The question; "How soon can I plant my new food plot after I clear the ground?" This plot was woods and timber in February of this year and I finally was able to plant the buckwheat early July. It was planted no-till after I had applied Calcium 3% and pellet lime (1 ton/acre). It should be heavy enough to No-Till Jeff Sturgis style in early August when I will also apply 19-19-19 fertilizer. The current plan is to plany brasica with tillage radish to help break-up soil and then top with 150# Winter Rye in mid-September.
