No-till Food Plots

Writer: Sam HolleySam Holley

Now is the time in the northern states to begin planting your fall food plots. We are trying something different this year and planted everything no-till. (There are a ton of videos online explaining the process.) The weather was perfect for us this weekend and we completed planting the brassicas on Saturday and then had a 1/2" of rain on Sunday! The only concern we have is the seed we had chosen for this year showed a 34% Inert Matter and only an 80% germination rate. It was a lesson learned and it pays to listen to those that have done this before. Always look at the labels before buying your seed even if it is from a larger company with good marketing! Spend the extra money and get quality seed and it just might make you a better food plotter.
