As the antlers of old are shed to the forest floor so begins the process of next years trophies! This time of year leaves us with mostly antlerless deer and they all look shaggy as they change to their summer hair. But, this time of year also allows us to see the new beginnings of Fall 2022. A buck must complete the healing process after he sheds his antlers. Once he has healed he can begin growing new antlers. The more mass a buck has the longer it will take to see his new antlers. It takes a longer time to produce those huge bases of a trophy buck than it does to sprout the spindly antlers of a yearling. Don't be concerned as the Ohio
